Perform material take-offs, make on site evaluations, and negotiate subcontract/vendor costs. Perform detailed takeoffs on conceptual / preliminary drawings, confirm subcontractor quantities on working drawings Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors Meet tight deadlines and maintain excellent communication with Owners, Subcontractors, Suppliers, and architects throughout the duration of the estimating process. Work closely with project management to ensure intended subcontractors and suppliers are used in accordance with the final approved budget.
The Successful Applicant
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and Construction Management 5 years minimum experience in budgeting/estimating for large scale transportation projects Demonstrate proficiency in reading commercial construction plans and specifications Ability to read and produce construction documents Must be able analyze all aspects of assigned bids including subcontractor scope/pricing and labor productivity for self-performed work.
